Busy Moms, Best Friends, and Podcast Hosts
Stacy Igel & Michelle Park are the dynamic duo from the #MOMSGOTTHIS Podcast. Their show features fellow driven moms that somehow manage to juggle kids and career success!
We talked with Michelle and Stacy about the experience of working with friends and their advice for others who might be thinking about joining forces.
How did you both become friends?
MP: We met at Fashion Week around 6 or 7 years ago. It was a show I was covering for NY1 at the time, and I remember someone introducing me and Stacy, I think I actually interviewed her for my story!
How did you decide to work together?
SI: I saw a photo of Michelle taking her daughter on set with her on Instagram and reached out to her to be my co-host as I felt “Who better to have as a co-host than a working mommy with a kid on set!”
What advice do you have about working for a friend?
MP: The key is good communication. You can't be afraid to say what you really think, because that's how you keep a healthy working relationship but also stay friends.
SI: I have owned my fashion business for 17 years. I learned from my first year in business not to set up one of your employees with your boyfriend’s best friend! I think that sums up how I feel about it lol. If you are going to work for a friend or with a friend in a new venture, keep it business, but also make sure to always have fun.
What trait do you most admire in each other? What have you learned from each other?
MP: I admire Stacy's ability to give 110%. She's always thinking about and working towards our goal of taking over the podcast empire!
SI: I admire Michelle’s energy and work ethic. I think we learn something new about each other every day with our podcast. I’m excited to learn about baby #2 as Michelle just had a second baby girl.
You’re both busy moms with busy jobs. What’s your key for staying close as friends?
MP: Social media is huge. You can keep up with each other and also message each other regularly.
